- At the age of nine, Smriti was selected for Maharashtra’s Under-15 cricket team. By age eleven, she joined the state’s Under-19 team.
- In October 2013, she became the first Indian woman to score a double century in a one-day match. She scored an unbeaten 224 runs from 150 balls in the West Zone Under-19 Tournament in Vadodara.
- Mandhana made her One Day International (ODI) debut for India on April 10, 2013, in a match against Bangladesh. A year later, in August 2014, she played her first Test match against England at Wormsley Park.
- In 2016, Smriti was the only Indian player named in the ICC Women’s Team of the Year. Despite an injury at the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) in January 2017, she returned to play in the 2017 World Cup. She started the tournament with a strong 90-run performance against England, earning her team a 35-run win and the Player of the Match title.
